Success Stories
Craig Johns got his start in the water quality field in 1991 when he was appointed to the San Francisco Regional Water Board by then-Governor Pete Wilson. He served two terms on the Regional Board, and was asked by his fellow Board Members to serve as Chair and Vice-Chair several times.
During his time on the Regional Board, Mr. Johns presided over and participated in more than 350 site cleanup approvals and enforcement actions concerning releases of hazardous materials to soil and groundwater. In addition, he presided over and participated in several hundred NPDES, WDR and 401 Certification applications.
CRS currently represents, or has recently represented, clients before eight of the nine Regional Water Boards throughout the state. These engagements have included matters as diverse as NPDES, WDR permits and 401/404 certifications, to TMDL development and implementation, and permit compliance and enforcement.
Craig Johns has counseled dozens of parties before the Regional Boards for contaminated site investigation, cleanup and closure, and has been involved in the development of many regional plans and policies.
